MARCH OF GIANTS
This showcases the early stages of the brand development for March of Giants, the new project I've been working on at Amazon Games Montreal since 2021. This game is a new MOBA-style warfare experience set in a unique, war-torn urban environment inspired by the period of World War I.
To develop the brand identity for this new project, I wanted to explore a fresh creative approach by incorporating anime-style illustration and painting techniques. With the theme of the Great War and large-scale battles, the team wanted to soften the overall tone by adopting a more colorful and vibrant artistic style to create a certain contrast. I embraced this idea with enthusiasm. Most often, the theme of war is represented visually in a dark and dramatic way. The colorful illustrations inspired by anime-style, help to lighten the overall atmosphere and bring a message of hope.

To reinforce this contrast between war and hope, I created a graphic signature that incorporates the usage of the ornamental style of 20th century and the charcoal drawing which bring the rawness that captures war's darker aspects.
Logo, typography, iconography, graphic elements... all these components are inspired by these two visual styles and create a unique and recognizable visual identity.
